    Mauser C96

    Hello all,

My Step Dad passed away earlier this year and I was put in charge of his gun collection. I have little to no information on these pistols but I tried to take some good pics with good lighting and tried to photo all markings. If there are any more photos needed, Please let me know and I will add them. Unfortunately, I have no more information than that about this firearm. I know there is a lot of different things that determine value on these, so if any one can help, I am just looking to see what it may be worth and any info that I can learn about this particular Mauser. It does have all matching numbers, so that is good. Thank you!

I'm also curious about the holster. Pretty sure it's not vintage, but it does fit the pistol nicely.

Values of these pistols are all over the place. Research will tell you exactly what model you have.

You've got a .30 cal broomhandle made sometime between 1911 and 1915. I would say it was made prior to WWI as the markings under the barrel are nitro proof marks required by the British. Made in Germany, spent some time in England and traveled to the US at some point.

Awesome! Thank you for the info, it is very appreciated. They are very cool looking pistols. I broke it down for a good cleaning and reoiled, which is one of my favorite things to do. I am slowly going through each firearm and making sure they are cleaned well and lubricated. Would you be able to find ammo for the C96 now? It would be nice to try it out at least once!
