Officer was fired (no pun intended). Good.
Officer is likely to be sued into oblivion. No problem with that.
Agency is likely to be sued for millions. Deserved.

This has always bothered me about MI laws on informing LEO when pulled over. Apart from a seasoned LEO, telling them 'I have a gun' is just plain dangerous. Especially if it's a FTO with a rookie who just freaks out when he hears this.

But, all that said and done, I'm not surprised at all. One of the first things cut at an agency is their training budget. All of this could have easily been avoided had she been trained.
These things have multiple results, one of which is the populace becoming less willing to comply with lawful requests. And, it makes cops look bad and deepens the divide.
Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it. Ronald Reagan

From what i can tell the gun the guy had was Glock. The gun in the female officers holster is a glock. She is just plain dumb.

Year ago I was coming home from work at 3AM, and got stopped in Bloomfield Township for driving while redneck (scurfy guy, 3 am, POS S-10... it was obviously a fishing expedition for the cop). The cop became very agitated when I disclosed I was carrying. He pulled his gun, screamed "If you move I will shoot you in the head!!"
We sat there for 15 minutes, sub-zero weather window down, while Barney waited for Andy to show up. Once Andy arrived, I was ordered out of the truck, hands raised. With his gun pointed at me, Barney ordered me to hand him my pistol.
I told him he was out of his ****g mind if he thought I was going to move. Andy reached in, took my gun. At the end of the stop I was 'free to go', no citation or warning, no articulation for why I was stopped other than my driving was 'unsteady'. They placed my gun on the passenger seat, field stripped and magazine empty. I reassembled the gun, loaded the magazine, chambered a round before putting on the seatbelt and driving away.
My trust factor in cops went waaay down that night.

You should file a suit even if only to adjust their behavior.

If this happened as described, and there is video, you have a payday coming. Lawyer's will be beating down your door for an easy slam dunk, provided video supports.
