There are brand new S&W1911's with the Crimson Trace grips for $900 on gunbroker, which should translate to like $700 for the gun....so how come you dont hear more about the Smiths? I have never owned an SW I wasnt happy with. Granted all my smiths except the MP15 are older, and revolvers
I briefly had a SC1911PD Scandium framed Commander. Sold it in a moment of weakness to my friend. Regretted it since. First box of ammo I put ALL 50 ROUNDS in the 10 ring on a standard silhouette at 10 yards.Originally Posted by PaulB84

initial reports seem good..
just saying...
Thanks for the link. Can you get one without the grip safety?Originally Posted by The Gunslinger
So thats +1 for the smith...I hear almost nothing about them, no one suggested one when I asked about a sub 1k 1911....it seems like a better gun than either kimber or SA for less $.....anyone know if the small parts are MIM? I'm really looking into them and then start saving for the BaerOriginally Posted by Shyster

now there's a new GI Expert that comes with a beavertail, if that's what you're referring to. it's called the ESP model, and it has a beavertail grip safety, fiber optic front site, and adjustable match trigger.
