Huzke, it does exactly what I need. I deer hunt, and MAYBE target practice for fun with friends. So its perfect. Comes with a scope/rings, no hassles. Take it outta the box, throw some ammo in it and away.

For the price, warranty, why not? It does exactly what I want, so why go anywhere else?
That is a good attitude to have. the 770 is just fine for a starter rifle. My first deer rifle was a WWII left over from Germany and ive slowly gained a nice rifle collection. I tell you what, you dont have to have the best of the best to have a rifle you will love. Ive got a Marlin XL-7 in .270, an under $500 rifle that is one of my favorites.

Shoot the hell out the 77o, it will last until something better comes along and more than likely it will serve your purpose just fine.
