    Sling stud pull-out

as the title suggests, the sling stud pulled out of the stock. I'd prefer to not just drill another hole.

    Any other suggestions?
    I'm thinking epoxy.
Its a birch stock if that matters.

Easy to fix. Get a hard wood dowel from **** Depot and drill out the old hole to fit the dowel. Glue(wood glue) dowel into the old exiting hole once drilled. Tap it in with a hammer for tight fit. Remove excess dowel and pre drill for the old stud.

Try stuffing the hole with pieces of toothpick and then re-install.

If it does't already have one, just install a bullseye.

    Stripped hole repair

    Get some 5-minute epoxy.
Clean the hole of loose debris.
Coat the stud with a release agent. You can use a light grease, heavy oil, or a few coats of PAM cooking spray.
Wax the area around the hole without getting wax into the hole.
Cover the area around the hole with masking tape.
Cut through tape to expose hole.
Mix epoxy according to package directions and feed into hole, using a toothpick or q-tip shaft to get epoxy to bottom of hole. Do not overfill, you need to leave room for the stud screw.
Gently install the stud to correct location.
    Wipe off excess epoxy.
    Remove tape.
    Done!

I have glued in a golf tee and re-drilled a new hole. It keeps the finish intact.

Couldn't you just install one like #2 or #2r in the picture?

The steel plate goes on the inside of the stock and the stud screws up into it.

You could if you want a change in style. The method Mike offered is what I suspect you would get if you took it to a smith to fix.
I did the same "fix" on a rifle that had the stud bottom out with the hole running at a 90* angle from its proper position. I removed the stud put a dab of accu-glass in the hole screwed it back in positioned as I wanted it and let it dry. I didn`t bother applying a release agent to the stud but don`t care if it ever gets removed or not.

It's like 3 bucks, it's easy and it looks good.
