For collector purposes (imo) it must be a non knurled grip frame to truly be a Gen 1.

GEN1 G19's were actually cut down G17 frames that Glock modified at the Factory.
It is believed that only a handful of the first run G19's survive in private collections.
But that is a very nice early GEN2 you have.
1988 was the beginning of the 2nd gen, guns with serrations on front & back straps, & on the front of the trigger guard. '88' was also the introduction of the G 19. Is your frame serrated? 2nd. gen. PERIOD. Not saying an 87 proto didn't sneak out.
