A fixed 10x is a terrible general purpose scope for an AR. Tried it, got rid of it. The 3-12x42 Nikon or similar is very useful by comparison. I had cases where I called in coyotes with it and when they came in I had a scope full of blurry fur, very hard to follow a running animal etc. Shooting from a bench at a target a consistent distance away, thats a different deal. Nikon also had the side parallax adjustment to eliminate parallax at different ranges.

I had massive, major shoulder surgery earlier this year.. Major knee surgery middle of last year, and later this year I may even get the mid cerebral aneurysm repaired.

A bit of bench shooting is all I can do for the next year or so.. I have good range of motion and physical therapy has gone great.. but needless to say I won't be chasing down any Coyotes in the near future..

But I can still sit there and relax as I enjoy my AR 15..
