    CMP Rifle Clinic w/ match - BWSA 4/29 & 30.

2023 CMP High Power Rifle Clinic
Sponsored by Blue Water Sportsman’s Association

    29 and 30 April 2023

The purpose of this clinic is to teach basic rifle marksmanship to new shooters, and to help current competitors refine their game. We will have 2 classes based on experience as follows:

The basic class is for new shooters. We will cover the fundamentals of marksmanship, the 3 positions (standing, sitting, prone), and match procedures. This will be followed by a coached practice session, and conclude with a coached 200 yard reduced course match fired from the prone and standing positions.

The advanced class is for competitors who are looking to increase their scores. We will have in- depth discussion of positions and mental management techniques. This will be followed by a coached practice session, and conclude with a coached 200 yard reduced course match fired from standing, sitting, and prone positions.

The class work and coached shooting will be run on 29 April, and the 200 yard reduced course match will run on 30 April, rain or shine.

The cost of the clinic is $30, and includes all class materials and your match fee.

Club owned AR-15 rifles are available for use. If you use a club rifle you must purchase club ammunition at a cost of $10 per 20 rounds. Basic course students will need 80 rounds, advanced course students will need 100 rounds.

The clinic will be held at Blue Water Sportsman’s Association located at 4866 Ravenswood Rd, Kimball MI 48074.

The start time will be 8am on Saturday, and 9am on Sunday.

This clinic is open to any eligible prospective competitor. You need not be a member of the NRA, CMP, or the sponsoring club to participate. All participants must complete a CMP “Eligibility Affidavit and Liability Agreement” and the BWSA Liability waiver.

Note: This match will be fired on electronic targets. There will be no pit duty. Competitors will serve as score verifiers and recorders (you will write the score displayed on the tablet for each shot, and will handle issues on the line just as in a regular paper target match). The electronic targets will be verified before the match. Scoring and protests will be handled per the latest edition of the CMP rules. Also note that for 2023 CMP requires eye protection to be worn on the firing line.
